At 3900 meters above sea level, in the center of the village of Vilca, is the Forest of Love which is considered "Eco Tourism Reserve of Peru" due to its high biodiversity. It is composed of the Papacocha Lagoon and the Huarqo River, one of the most beautiful and representative of the Nor Yauyos Cochas Landscape Reserve. The forest is in the form of a natural dam, which allows the formation of the Papacocha lagoon and dispenses its water in the form of waterfalls to continue with the normal course of the Huarqo River at Along a valley of turquoise and crystalline waters.
The name of the Forest comes from one of the stories that the villagers tell about a couple of lovers who, because they were not accepted by their families, decided to escape in the direction of the Papacocha Lagoon and to jump into the waterfalls to be happy forever. Waterfalls originate from the Papacocha lagoon, which in turn flows from the snowy Ticlla, with several jumps and falls.
