Share:

The lagoon of Huallhua is considered as Eco Tourism Reserve of Peru due to its high Biodiversity and forms part of the Landscape Reserve of Nor Yauyos Cochas. The lake has waterfalls in the form of platforms where the water has a crystalline turquoise color with abundant fauna such as trout, diver, herons, yanavicos, huallata, wild ducks. The edges are surrounded by local flora such as quenual, karkac, taya, taya-taya, huamanpinta, quishuar, zapatito, among others. In some places, the vegetation grows so much and covers the path of the lake making believe that the water flows from the ground.

To get to the lagoon, a walk is made from Huancaya. You pass by Huallhua Lake and the two viewpoints of Carahuayno and Huallhua that allow you to observe the scenic beauty of the area. In the lagoon is the piscigranja that supplies fish to Huancaya. For lovers of water sports, you can also practice sailing, canoeing in craft canoes with villagers or guides specializing in this theme and other boat rides.
